Deepika Padukone was born on 5 January 1986 in Bangalore, India. She has done her schooling in Bangalore. She has been modelling appearances in print and television advertising campaigns for Liril soap, Close-Up toothpaste and Limca, receiving many prestigious modelling offers, including brand ambassadorship of the Jewels of India, an annual jewellery exhibition. She hit the international scene when Maybelleine made her their new international covergirl face.
PERSONAL LIFE
Padukone's father is a sportsman and her mother is a travel agent. She has a younger sister named Anisha who is currently in the 11th grade. She dated models Upen Patel, Muzammil Ibrahim and Nihar Pandya with whom she had been living with for the past two years. She moved out of his house and started to date Ranbir Kapoor. According to sources, Padukone recently broke up with Kapoor and is now back with Pandya.
ON SCREEN APPEARANCES
Padukone has branched out from modeling into acting. She started by starring in the music video for Naam Hai Tera a song from the pop album Aap Ka Suroor, an independent album by himesh reshamiyya..
More recently Padukone made her cinematic debut in a Kannada film, Aishwarya, directed by Indrajit Lankesh co-starring Upendra.[2]. The film has already been successful at the box-office, and Padukone has received rave reviews for her screen presence. Padukone will be making her Bollywood debut in Farah Khan- directed Om Shanti Om , opposite Shah Rukh Khan . In the movie , she has been depicted as a 70s superstar Shantipriya and later as Sandy.Padukone has already signed Priyadarshan's next Pirate, and Made In China opposite Akshay Kumar .Om Shanti Om is due to be released on November 9, 2007.
She made an appearance to the T20 match between India and Australia on 20th October 2007. She was being invited by our Indian Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
